INDOOR RANGE
RANGE LAYOUT:
SAFE AREA (NO AMMO) / FIRING LINE / TARGET AREA / CEASE FIRE LIGHT / EXITS / FIRST AID / FIRE EXTINGISHERS
SAFETY RULES:
· ALWAYS
o KEEP MUZZLE POINTED IN SAFE DIRECTION (DOWN RANGE!)
o KEEP FINGER OFF TRIGGER AND OUTSIDE TRIGGER GUARD UNTIL READY TO SHOOT
o KEEP FIREARM UNLOADED UNTIL READY TO SHOOT
· NO FIREARM OUTSIDE OF SHOOT STALL UNLESS HOLSTERED OR CASED
o MAGAZINES CANNOT BE LOADED INTO FIREARM UNTIL IN THE SHOOTING STALL
· NO RAPID FIRE! MUST HAVE 2 SECOND INTERVALS –THIS WILL-BE-ENFORCED!
o EXCEPTIONS MADE FOR CLUB SANCTIONED MATCHES, RSO/INSTRUCTOR – CLASSES ONLY!
· NO FOOD OR DRINK ON THE RANGE; NO OPEN TOED SHOES
· RECOMMENDED TO USE AN EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR/SAFETY FLAG IN FIREARM WHEN NOT IN USE
· RECOMMENDED TO WASH YOUR HANDS PRIOR TO LEAVING RANGE FLOOR.
CEASE FIRE:
· ANYONE CAN CALL CEASE FIRE AT ANY TIME IF UNSAFE SITUATION OCCURS
· IF CEASE FIRE IS CALLED:
o STOP FIRING – FINGER OFF TRIGGER– MUZZLE DOWN RANGE – WAIT.
o RANGE SAFETY OFFICERS WILL CALL OUT INSTRUCTIONS
FIRING LINE COMMANDS:
· COMMENCE FIRING / CEASE FIRE / STOP / MAKE SAFE AND SHOW CLEAR / RANGE IS SAFE
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
· ALL SHOOTERS:
o MUST SIGN IN AT DESK AND GET LANE ASSIGNMENT
o WAIT FOR CLEARANCE TO ENTER RANGE FROM RANGE PERSONEL
o NEW / INEXPERIENCED SHOOTERS MUST NOTIFY RANGE PERSONEL

· PISTOL CARTRIDGE – STRAIGHT WALL CASINGS ONLY
o 17 RIMFIRE * 22 SHORT/LONG/LONG RIFLE/MAG
o 25 AUTO / 32 AUTO
o .380 / .38 SPECIAL
o 9MM / 40 S&W / 44 SPECIAL / .45 ACP / .45 COLT
· NO HOLLOW POINTS * NO WAD CUTTERS OR SEMI-WAD CUTTERS
OUTDOOR RANGE
· GATE RULES (USE SILVER COMBINATION LOCK):
o SHUT AND LOCK GATE WHEN YOU ENTER AND WHEN YOU LEAVE UNLESS IT IS PUBLIC EVENT.
o DO NOT GIVE OUT THE GATE CODE TO ANYONE, EVEN IF THEY ARE MEMBERS!
· NO GUESTS AT THE OUTDOOR RANGE UNLESS YOU HAVE A GUEST PASS!
· MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND GUESTS PASSES MUST BE ON YOU AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES.
o If asked for your Membership/Guest Pass, and cannot produce it, you will be asked to leave.
· NO TRASH IS TO BE LEFT BEHIND! If it doesn’t fit in the garbage cans, stop at the Indoor Range dumpster.
· MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING THEIR OWN TARGETS AND TARGET STANDS/HOLDERS.
· WATER BRIDGE:If there is high water, water or ice covering, or debris on the bridge, DO NOT STAY!
· STEEL TARGETS:25 YARDS FROM BENCHES AT RIFLE RANGE; 10 YARDS ON PISTOL RANGE
· NOdrug/alcohol use during or prior to the use of the range
· NO exploding targets of ANY type (partial list: no Tannerite, no glass, no tv’s, no clays, no CANNONS!)
· NO TARGETS on the hillside, trees, or fenceposts! USE YOUR TARGETS STANDS!
· NO fully automatic firearms
· NO shooting outside the range limits
· NO shooting toward benches/seating areas on either range
· NO crossfire EVER!
· NO VEHICLES ON RANGES
· NO ATV USE / NO HUNTING ON CLUB PROPERTY!
· SURVEILLANCE PRACTICES IN PLACE; FOLLOW ALL FIREARM SAFETY RULES! BE COURTEOUS TO ALL!
REQUIRED SAFETY
· Eye and ear protection at all times
· Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times
· Unload/show clear when firearm not in use or when someone is downrange
· No handling of firearm(s) at any time when someone is down range
· Use proper ammunition for your firearm!
· If you witness unsafe behavior, report it to the mrapc executive committee and/or law enforcement.
You have joined a non-profit gun club. Many members volunteer their time and put countless hours into maintaining this club and its properties. We encourage you to BE ACTIVE WITHIN THE CLUB. Attend the meetings; help with Annual Open House; help with Cookouts, etc. We always need help with any number of things going on in the club. With your help, our club with prosper and continue to provide a safe, educational, and fun environment to learn the shooting sports.
OUTDOOR RANGE GUEST PASS PROCEDURE
The Moundsville Rifle & Pistol Club GUEST PASS is only available to MEMBER-SPONSORED AUTHORIZED GUESTS. Failure to follow all the MRAPC Range Rules, including those specifically for Guest Access, could result in disciplinary action for the MRAPC Member. Such actions may include loss of privileges and/or loss of membership.
· GUEST PASS - $10.00 per person, PER DAY
· An ACTIVE/CURRENT MRAPC must sponsor each guest
· Limited to FIVE (5) Guest Passes per Sponsoring Member at one time
· Sponsoring Member is NOT PERMITTED to give any Guest the passcode for the outdoor gate
· Guest(s) must remain with MRAPC Member at all times while on property
· Guests are required to follow all MRAPC Range & Safety Rules
· Guest (s) and Member acknowledge the use of the Outdoor Range is at their OWN RISK
· MRAPC Active Member is totally responsible for their guest
· Guest passes may be purchased in advance which are good for the current calendar year
· Guest passes may be purchased on any regular scheduled Shoot Night
· Prior to a Guest Pass being used, a text message MUST BE SENT to Liz Blake at 740-312-9215 with the Guest full name, pass number being used and the time you will be at the range.
· After use, the Guest Pass must be dropped off at the red drop box by the blue entry door
· NO REPLACEMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR LOST GUEST PASSES
